Berserk is an independent open-source engine written in C, with its own NNUE neural network. Version 14 sits in the top 20 of the CCRL 40/15 rating list, the independent ranking that plays engines against each other at rapid time controls, among engines with far larger teams behind them.
It is also remarkably compact. The whole engine, network included, is a 25 MB download, a quarter of the size of the full Stockfish builds here, which makes it one of the best ways to watch top-level engine chess on a phone or a slow connection.
On Chessy it runs compiled to WebAssembly and uses several of your device's cores. The browser build was checked against the official release: on Berserk's own benchmark it searches exactly the same 2,811,728 positions as the native engine, so what you watch here is the real Berserk 14, not an approximation.
